What you can expect from this Piano Teacher
Students have the option of 30 or 45 minute Piano Lessons depending on their abilities and age. This is considered applied piano. Theory and iPad are used for a “fun” way of learning.
Parents are encouraged but don’t have to stay during lessons. It is highly recommended parents remain for younger students.
Applied Piano
Applied Piano actually refers to the lesson itself. The actual lesson is the most important part of the piano experience.
I will try to gear the Piano Method Books for your student’s level of understanding. If they are initially experiencing difficulty with the method books, I may step backwards and choose an easier introduction book until they are comfortable with language, notes and just general information.
When transitioning to the next level of books in the series we choose, we may have to make a lateral move into a different piano method so that they get more experience playing pieces that they can actually finish without frustration. Once they have mastered that we can then return to the original method (or not!).
Just the Facts Theory is a writing program I have included to reinforce what we learn at the piano keyboard. I also have apps on the iPad that reinforce the fundamentals and terms.
Use of the iPad has opened up a lot of fun ways to learn in this modern technology age!
